Luis Buendía

Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of León. He holds a PhD in International Economics and Development from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has also been a professor at universities in Madrid, A Coruña and Burgos, among other places, and a researcher at the University of Santiago de Compostela, the National University of San Martín (Argentina), the Institutet för Framtidsstudier (Stockholm) and the University of Stockholm.

He is the author and co-author of articles in journals such as Socio-Economic Review, Ecological Economics, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, etc., as well as more than a dozen book chapters and books in publishers such as Routledge, Palgrave, Fondo de Cultura Económica, etc. His research focuses on the role of the State in the distribution and redistribution of income, with particular attention to the Nordic welfare states.
