PhD in Pedagogy from the University of Oviedo. He has worked as a social educator, as a pedagogue in the Department of Social Services of the Principality of Asturias and as head of training at the Institute of Public Administration of the Principality of Asturias. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of León. He has carried out research and teaching stays abroad at different universities (Australia, Armenia, USA, Malta, Ireland, China, Turkey). His latest book is Education is no longer what it was. Educational crossroads in a postmodern world. (Bomarzo, 2023). His lines of work are the analysis of neoliberal policies in education and social services, basic income, education for the common good and critical pedagogy. He likes running and playing chess.
