María Verdeja Muñiz
She holds a degree and a PhD in Pedagogy from the University of Oviedo. She currently works at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in the category of contracted professor with a doctorate, in the Department of Educational Sciences, Didactics and School Organization Area. Her experience as a professor at the University of Oviedo covers a wide diversity of teaching in undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies.
Her main lines of research focus on the study of pedagogy and the work of Paulo Freire, the challenges posed by education in multicultural contexts, intercultural education and attention to the cultural diversity of students from an inclusive education and social justice approach.
As part of her research activity, she has published articles related to these topics, some of them indexed in SCOPUS, ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index) or the Web of Science (WOS). She has also participated in different national and international research projects.
